Barriers

Do you have questions about barriers we haven’t mentioned?
Requests?
Do you need something specific?
Then get in touch with us, and we’ll see together what’s possible!
We’re trying to make Silberburg more accessible for everyone and to keep educating ourselves.
However, in some areas we still lack knowledge and experience.
We are constantly working to learn and improve.
That’s why we’re always open to and very grateful for feedback and suggestions!

Meetings (Pub Working Group):

– Meetings take place when the pub is closed
– So far, meetings are held in German
– Translation into English would be possible
– Other languages may also be possible, depending on who is present
– We try to use simple language
– Hand signals are used during the plenary
– There is a circle of chairs
– There is also facilitation and note-taking
– No smoking or alcohol during the meeting
– Drinks can be purchased for a donation
– Tap water is free
– There is a 10 to 15 minute break after about one hour
– It is always possible to leave early or take a break outside alone
– There are usually between 5 and 15 people at the meetings

About the location:

– Silberburg can only be accessed via several steps at all entrances
– Unfortunately, there is no proper wheelchair ramp
– The toilets are very narrow
– The toilets are for people of all genders (no men/women separation)
– There is gravel in the courtyard
– The doorbell does not work
– However, the doors are unlocked during meetings and opening hours
– When the pub is open, there are many sensory stimuli (voices, smell of smoke, music from different speakers, table football)
– When many people are present, it can feel crowded, as the space is not very large
– The lighting is not very bright and partly colorful

Getting there:

– The nearest bus stops from the direction of the train station are Amtsgericht or Schillerplatz
– From there it is about 700 meters each
– We can reserve a parking space on request

About the surroundings:

– Silberburg is located in a residential area
– A train line runs a few meters away
– Trains come unexpectedly and are loud, which can be startling
