Do you have questions about barriers we haven’t mentioned?
Any wishes?
Do you need anything?
Please get in touch with us, and we’ll see together what is possible!
We are working to make the Silberburg more accessible and welcoming for everyone and to keep learning.
However, in some areas we still lack knowledge and experience.
We are always trying to learn more and improve.
That’s why we are always open to and very grateful for feedback and suggestions!
Pub Working Group (KAK) Meetings:
- Meetings take place when the pub is closed.
- The meetings are currently held in German.
- English interpretation/translation can be arranged.
- Other languages may also be possible, depending on who is present.
- We try to use clear and easy-to-understand language.
- Hand signals are used during the plenary discussion.
- Chairs are arranged in a circle.
- There is also a facilitator and written meeting notes.
- No smoking or alcohol consumption takes place during the meeting.
- Drinks are available for a donation.
- Tap water is free.
- There is usually a 10–15 minute break after about one hour.
- You are always welcome to leave the meeting early or take a break outside on your own.
- Usually between 5 and 15 people attend the meetings.
- Information about the venue:
- Unfortunately, all entrances to the Silberburg can only be reached via several steps.
- Unfortunately, there is no suitable wheelchair ramp.
- The toilets are very small.
- The toilets are all-gender and are not separated into men’s and women’s facilities.
- The courtyard has a gravel surface.
- The doorbell does not work.
- However, the doors are unlocked during meetings and opening hours.
- Tap water is always free of charge. Other drinks have fixed prices.
- When the pub is open, there can be many sensory stimuli (voices, the smell of cigarette smoke, music from different speakers, lots of stickers and posters, and a table football game).
- When many people are present, the space often feels crowded because the room is not very large.
- The lighting is rather dim and partly colorful.
- Smoking is allowed in the pub, except on Fridays from 8:00 pm to midnight.
- The nearest bus stops from the direction of the train station are Amtsgericht and Schillerplatz.
- From either stop, it is about 700 metres to the Silberburg.
- We can reserve a parking space on request.
- The Silberburg is located in a residential neighbourhood.
- There is a railway line a short distance away.
- Trains pass by unexpectedly and can be quite loud, which may be startling.
